About me
My name is Jose and I am Cuban. When I first experienced the internet at 17, I realized that I could learn anything online. The world of software development quickly caught my attention, which led me to investigate how to learn programming. I took basic courses and created simple programs like an UI calculator in Java or an UI inventory management program using .txt files to store the data.
After recently moving to the United States, my main focus has been obtaining a degree in Computer Science. Because I understand that a University degree will not make me a good software engineer, I decided to study on my own. I have been studying web development through various video courses and reading materials.
I like my method of learning, which involves following a video course or reading a tutorial (I prefer reading materials, they usually contain more info). After that, I like to create projects to consolidate my knowledge and solve real-world problems. Honestly, I have learned more on my own than at university.
Because I am a full time student while having a full time job, I struggle to find time to work on my own projects. However, I always find the time.
Right now, I am continuing to work on designing and developing web apps that excite me.
